January Crops

Just 2 more days until 2008! That's exciting, what's not so exciting is that I'm one day away from being the mother of a sixteen year old. Kim became a mother of a sixteen year old 2 weeks ago. Do we look old enough for that??? Lie to us, please.....

Our first crop of January is going to be a celebration of our two year anniversary of hosting crops at Hobby Lobby. We started out with our friends from church that we begged, pleaded and coerced to show up and Cindy! We've come a long way and we hope that 2008 will be an even bigger year for us!

January 5
10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Come in your craziest Hawaiian get up! Kim wants you guys to show up in grass skirts and coconut bras! We'll see how that works out for her!

I'll be making a banana pudding and probably our most popular dish, taco soup.

January 19
10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
In addition to our normal crop we are kicking off our year long circle journal with a make & take for that project. We will be making an 8 1/2 x 11 album for our journal. This is just the first of many times I will be offering this project so if you miss it this month, don't despair, you can make it up whenever you can!

The tentative and subject to change price of this project is $20.00. This includes the album, title page and embellishments.

Please sign up via email in advance for this class so I have enough materials for everyone who is participating on this date.

I took the January layout to start us off so be expecting your copies of my layout on this date.

If you didn't sign up to participate in the circle journal but would like to, email me at kroppykats@aol.com. The deadline to sign up to participate is February 1.

Haven't decided on lunch for this date yet, email me any ideas and recipes you know is a crowd pleaser! But don't forget, I'm allergic to red meat.

Circle Journals

Has anyone participated in a circle journal? I've read a lot about them but have never seen one. I've also seen a lot of drama on scrapbook message boards where someone wasn't living up to their end of the bargain. But I'm interested anyway.

So, who's in? Lets sign up on December 15 if you want to play. We'll each take a month. I'll do a journal for a Make & Take so all of our journals match. Then, we'll do a page about ourselves or our group and share! We Kroppy Katters are such a good group, I'd love to have something really special to remember everyone by.

Here are some links I googled for information about circle journals. I want ours to be scrapbooked pages about ourselves. Maybe a 2 page layout. I think 8 1/2 by 11 is a good size because it's so much easier to photo copy. I think photo copying is the best way to get every one a copy unless someone has a better idea....

I'm also looking for new creative ideas for next year. I want to shake things up a bit. So if you have ideas, lets have them!

Ornament Exchange

We've decided to add an ornament exchange at the Christmas party. So just bring a pretty ornament if you want to participate. We'll give all the ornaments a number and we'll draw numbers to see what we win!

Also, try to get there at least by 11 because we have a few ladies that have to leave early. We want to make sure we can at least get all the exchanging done before they have to go.

Thanks!
